As from August 24, 2022, foreign students who have obtained X1 visa or hold a valid residence permit for study can enter China.

The relevant requirements for an X1 visa are as follows:

    1. Log on to https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn to make an appointment.

2. Bring the following materials to the embassy in person:

1). Original and photocopy of passport.

2). Two recent passport photos with white background.

3). The original and photocopy of the "Visa Application Form for Studying in China" (JW201 or JW202 form).

4). Admission letter (for freshmen) or return certificate (for current students) issued by a school in China.

5). Invitation letter issued by the commercial department (only for foreign trainees).
