According to the Joint Announcement of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the General Administration of Customs of China and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China on Requiring China-bound Passengers to Obtain COVID-19 Negative Certification Before Boarding issued on 20 July 2020 , passengers taking flights bound for China are required to present their negative certification of COVID-19 nucleic acid test before boarding. Up to now, a few countries have already implemented COVID-19 nucleic acid tests on passengers travelling for China in accordance with the requirements of the above mentioned Announcement. The following is an important reminder of the precautions for foreign passengers bound for China via a third country:

I. Foreign passengers departing from Mauritius to China via a third country where such negative certification is required for boarding (see list of countries via web link https://hr.cs.mfa.gov.cn/help_two/help-two/gj.html ) should take COVID-19 nucleic acid test before departing from Mauritius. Negative report of nucleic acid test needs to be submitted to the Chinese Embassy in Mauritius to apply for approval of a Health Declaration. Both of the negative certification of nucleic acid test and the approved Health Declaration are requested to be presented before boarding at the transit airport.

1. Period of Validity and designated institutions for COVID-19 nucleic acid test

COVID-19 nucleic acid tests should be performed at following institutions designated by the Chinese Embassy within 3 days before boarding at the transit countries.

(1) C-Lab at Wellkin Hospital

Test report can be issued within 24-48 hours

(2) C-Lab at Clinique Darné

Reservation tel: 6012300

2. Procedures for processing the Health Declaration

Foreign passengers are required to submit the negative report of nucleic acid test to the Chinese Embassy (via email chinaembmu@gmail.com ), along with the scanned copy of valid passport information page and signed Health Declaration Form (see the attachment below the notice).

After approval, the scanned copy of the Health Declaration Form will be emailed back to the passenger and needs to be printed out and carried to the airport. Passengers are kindly reminded to transit within the validity period of health declaration and cooperate with inspection by the airlines before boarding.

II. Countries around the world are frequently adjusting entry, exit and transit policies due to the evolvement of COVID-19 pandemic. Passengers are kindly reminded to carefully check with relevant airlines before departure, or learn about related information and epidemic prevention policies through official website, so as to avoid inconvenience to your journey caused by prohibition of boarding for lack of essential documents.
