2018-09-28 19:49

According to relevant Chinese laws and regulations, the Embassy will start Fingerprint Retention from 8 October 2018 upon all citizens who apply for Chinese visa, including Mauritian citizens, while the following persons can be exempted from Fingerprint Retention:

1. Under the age of 14 or over the age of 70;

2. Holding a diplomatic passport or complying with diplomatic, official or courtesy Chinese visa requirements;

3. Having been issued Chinese visa in the same passport by any Chinese embassy or consulate or Chinese visa Application Center within 5 years where fingerprints have already been retained;

4. Whose fingers are incomplete or whose ten fingerprints cannot be retained.

The retention of fingerprint is a technological trend for China to comply with the development of international visa technology and improve the collection of personal information for signatories. It has not raised the threshold for applying for Chinese visa. China has always been committed to improving the facilitation of foreign and Chinese personnel exchanges. Foreigners are welcomed to come to China and Chinese Embassy is willing to provide all necessary facilities regarding visa application.
